Friday’s Food & Fitness: Dance Dance Dance!

Hey guys!  Happy Friday!  Are you excited for the weekend?  I have some really fun things planned!  Well, in the interest of getting to the weekend faster, let’s dive right into this week’s Food and Fitness!

This week started out with this awesome Thai-inspired meal.


Red thai-curry with sea bass, coconut rice and a salad made of papaya, mango, grapefruit, mint, cilantro, shallots with a lime dressing.  Holy yum!


For lunch this week I made this delicious fall salad: butternut squash, pomegranate, feta and almonds.  So good!

Also on the menu, black bean burgers with sweet potato fries.  You guys, you have to try this.  So delicious!

And because by the time Thursday rolls around I’m so ready for the weekend to begin I named it: Build Your Own Taco Night! (aka I’m too lazy to make everyone’s tacos for them).

I already told you all about this awesome Zumba master class I took this week but I also took TWO more dance classes this week!  I can’t wait to tell you more about them next week.  I feel like I hardly worked out at all this week because dance workouts are just so fun!  Here’s a roundup of some of my favorite dance workouts, check ’em out!

Readers, what are your plans for the weekend?  What’s your favorite cuisine?  Do you stick to the same workout routine or change it up?


  1. I love food. lol. Anything tasty and flavorful that makes me feel good! And sometimes, these goods can even be healthy. Right now I am obsessed with salads from Chop’t.

    This weekend is low key for me. I will be at Nellie’s special Zumba class tomorrow though!

  2. All this food…yum, yum, yum! I want it all! 😉 My favorite cuisine…that’s a hard one! I guess I’d have to say Italian and Mexican. Oh how I love dance workouts! They’re just so fun and I never feel like I’m working out – I feel like I’m out a dance party!

    This weekend, I’m going to Zumba tomorrow a.m., my parents’ house tomorrow p.m. and I’m not sure about Sunday yet.

    • It’s pretty easy! It’s just shallots sauteed in EVOO plus red curry paste, coconut milk & stock. I didn’t add any veggies because I made the side salad!

  10. I change my routine up so much sometimes I’m wondering if I get any real benefits! I am working on my food issues and today I feel pretty good about what I ate. There are chips in the kitchen and I did not have any! I’m going to brush my teeth to keep me from going in there now that it’s getting late.

    I have the Zumba videos you get from training as well as the ones that come in the box set with the toning sticks. I did one today that focused on arms and abs because I had run and felt like I needed some more upper body work.

    • That is awesome that you didn’t eat any chips! It’s really hard for me to have stuff in the house and not eat it so I try to only buy ingredients for meals and not impulse shop. Doesn’t always work though!
